Used Heidelberg Polar Paper Cutters for Sale 42

Polar paper cutters and the Heidelberg distribution model

Polar Mohr GmbH manufactures programmable paper guillotine cutters in Hofheim, Germany. The Polar line is distributed under the Heidelberg post-press portfolio and integrates with Heidelberg Prinect workflow systems where appropriate. Polar cutters are recognised across European print finishing as a quality benchmark for programmable guillotine cutting, alongside Wohlenberg and Perfecta equivalents.

Polar product line and cutting widths

The product line spans cutting widths from the compact Polar 56 (560 millimetres) for label and small commercial work up to the Polar 176 (1,760 millimetres) for very large format packaging trimming. The most widely installed sizes in European inventory are the Polar 92 (920 mm), 115 (1,150 mm), and 137 (1,370 mm), which address the bulk of commercial and packaging finishing operations.

Polar control generations

The Polar control generation is the central differentiator on used machines. Earlier Polar 92 EM, 115 EM, and 137 EM cutters carry the Compucut control with simpler programming aids. The Polar N series (Polar 92 N2, 115 N, 137 N) introduces colour touchscreens, enhanced cutting program memory, and Autotrim automation. Later Polar models (Polar 78 X, 92 X, 115 X, 137 X) add the Compucut-PC environment, integration with pre-press workflow data, and high-end automation features including bar-code-driven cutting program selection.

Cutting line accessories

Polar cutters are typically supplied as part of a cutting line including a jogger, an air table, a label loader (for self-adhesive label work), and stacking and pressing accessories. The accessories included with the sale significantly affect the deal economics: a complete Polar cutting line with Compucut control, a Polar Mohr SF jogger, an air table, and a Polar BS/AB label loader is a different proposition from a standalone cutter without peripherals.

Used Polar inspection priorities

Key verification points on a used Polar include the blade condition and number of blade changes since the last grinding, the back gauge accuracy across the cutting width, the clamp pressure consistency, the safety interlock condition (modern Polar cutters carry electronic light barriers and two-hand control compliance with current EU machinery directives), and the cumulative cut count where the machine records it.

Used Polar value drivers

Used Heidelberg Polar cutters benefit from continuing parts availability through Polar Mohr's European service network, the established Compucut and Compucut-PC operator base, and the wide installed base of Polar-compatible accessories and consumables.

Browse used Heidelberg Polar paper cutters on Exapro to compare Polar 78, 92, 115, and 137 configurations from verified sellers worldwide. When evaluating a used Polar, request the cumulative cut count, inspect blade condition and grinding history, check back gauge accuracy across the cutting width, confirm clamp pressure consistency, verify safety interlock and light barrier compliance with current EU directives, and request the included accessories (jogger, air table, label loader). The CE conformity status under the Machinery Directive should be confirmed for any cross-border purchase within the EU.
