The KBA model 46 Karat digital sheet offset combines the speed and accuracy of direct exposure with the quality of the dry offset.
It incorporates a printing cylinder, with three segments and clamp systems, holds each sheet in a single clamp closure during two turns of the cylinder to print four-color. It has two exposure heads that allow simultaneous exposure and an exact record of the four color separations. In each of the two rubber cylinders there are two conventional blankets.
The two flat iron cylinders, each divided into two segments, can be exposed to 18,000 rev / h after decoupling them from the inking system and sheet transport. The conventional inking system has a total of 15 rollers, four of them inks. With the automatic presetting of the ink screw profile, the predefined ink density is quickly reached. In difficult situations you can readjust concrete screws to get a better inking. The printing plates are in a reel in the cylinder holder. The plates are automatically wound by means of a device in this cylinder. Used irons automatically rewind in the opposite coil.
The washing machine for cylinder holders is used to clean the remains of the exhibition. It works in three phases: a vacuum aspiration, a reciprocating roller that dries and a pre-moistened blanket.
The machine has a maximum performance of 7,000 sheets / h and has a resolution of 2,540 dpi. It uses Presstek ProFire Media plates for dry offset and different special inks for dry offset together with Epple Druckfarben high pigmentation inks.
