A cyclonic separator is a device used to separate solid particles suspended in air, gas or liquid flow, without the use of an air filter, using a vortex for separation. The effects of rotation and gravity are used to separate mixtures of solids and fluids. The method can also separate small droplets of a liquid from a gaseous flow.
A high velocity air flow is established within the cylindrical or conical container called a cyclone.
