Head Ampoule Filling & Closing Machine with Laminar Flow This machine is designed to process open and closed ampoules. The capacity depends on the ampoule size, filling volume and the characteristics of the product to be filled. The machine has a maximum output of approx. 12.000 ampoules per hour. Currently, the machine is offered with format parts for 1 - 2 and 5 ml ampoules and with appropriate stainless steel dosing pumps. With appropriate format parts, dosing pumps and filling needles the Bosch ALK 3040 machine is designed to handle the following size ranges: Dosing volume: min. 0,5 ml - max. 25 ml Ampoule Ø: min. 9 mm - max. 26 mm Height: min. 60 mm - max. 160 mm Ampoules to be filled are placed onto a stainless-steel wire mesh conveyor and are guided against a feed worm. The feed worm spaces the ampoules and transfers them to a segmented star-wheel which in turn transfers them – four at a time – into the transport rake. The transport rake feeds the ampoules standing vertically intermittently through the burner-, filling-, pre-heating- and closing station. In the filling station the ampoules are centred. The bar carrying the filling needles lowers, inserting the needles into the ampoules and filling takes place (no ampoule – no filling). The closing station comprises facilities for prewarming-, rolling- and burning with draw-off tongs. In the rolling station the ampoules are rotated by the rollers and are first pre-warmed, they are then fed to the closing station where intense heat is applied to a certain point of the ampoules until the glass has melted. The draw-off tongs grip the ampoule tips and draw them upwards ensuring a smooth and round ampoule closure. The waste glass is discharged via a chute at the rear. The closed ampoules are now transferred from the machine across a fourlane discharge at 90° to the front where they can be collected in suitable Ampoule trays (not included). The machine is covered with a Bosch Laminar Flow Unit with integrated pressure gauge and illumination. At the front side, the Filling- and Closing stations are enclosed within vertically suspensible Perspex guards. All other sides are also covered by Perspex guards – this ensures that the machine operates with only filtered air. All operator controls are located in a stainless steel console at the right-hand side of the machine. Flow Control Units for gas and oxygen are grouped at the front side of the machine.
